Optic Fusion earns data security certification
Feb 20, 2013 – 03:15 PM
Optic Fusion, Inc., a data storage and network connectivity company, has acquired SSAE 16 – SOC2 Type 1 certification for its Tacoma data center.

Such certification is awarded after an audit of an organization’s information systems relevant to security, availability, processing integrity, confidentiality and privacy. Optic Fusion’s audit was completed by accounting firm Moss Adams in accordance with standards established by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

“Now, clients can rely on this certification as evidence that their data, even the data of financial organizations, meets standards for data security and availability set by the (AICPA),” said Optic Fusion President and CEO Rick C. Shanaman.

To date, Optic Fusion is the only colocation center in the South Sound area to receive this designation.

“It was a very rigorous process,” Shanaman said, “but well worth it in that the audit results demonstrate for our clients that we take data security very seriously.”

Big Mountain is proud to continue our partnership with Optic Fusion as they play a critical role in ensuring the stability and reliability of our network. We know and trust that our servers and equipment are in good hands. Congratulations to Rick Shanaman and the entire Optic Fusion team!
